I'm a reformed city girl from Los Angeles, California who somehow ended up living the horse girl life in central New Jersey with my physicist husband Gus and our kitty Lyra. I have an unhealthy love of smooching pony noses, I'd rather wear muck boots and breeches than makeup and heels, and I'm truly puzzled when someone says "you smell like horses" as if it's a bad thing. I'm obsessed with tacos, trashy Bravo reality TV and seltzer, not necessarily in that order.
Ollie, my heart horse unicorn of a lifetime, passed away suddenly in the summer of 2021. In December of 2021 we welcomed Lyric "Puttin' on the Ritz" to the family, a Lipizzaner/TB cross that just so happens to be a flea bitten grey. Astonishingly, he, too, is my heart horse unicorn of a lifetime. To say I'm lucky is an understatement.
I've been photographing horses and their humans since 2013, and I can confidently say that I have the absolute best job in the entire world. Along with my regular portrait work, I've been lucky enough to work with and support Mane Stream NJ as well as GallopNYC. My work can be seen at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center and B.W. Furlong & Associates, and has been featured in The Plaid Horse and Chrome magazine. I believe that the relationship between horse & rider is one that needs to be experienced to be fully understood, and that everyone, regardless of ability, deserves that experience, which is why I am so proud to support Mane Stream and their mission.
When I say "tell me more about your horse," I really mean it - I want to hear it all, and I want to see the 3,156 photos of your horse in your phone and hear about the latest adorable thing he did. My favorite part of being a photographer is meeting horses and their humans and helping them tell their story through photography. And I'd love to help you tell your story!

These lunatics are my family - this is us at my best friend's wedding (clearly after the champagne toast). They're amazing, and I'm the luckiest. Cheers to my sis for giving me the cutest nephews on the planet (it's been scientifically proven - they're the cutest) and to my parents for proudly displaying photos of their "grand horses" Ollie and Lyric on the family portrait wall. Apparently I also really love wedding photo booths, since I have about 100 of these in a variety of outfits tacked to my fridge!

I. LOVE. FOOD. Mostly eating food, but I also enjoy cooking! I got my start in food photography, when I was working for a food website in DC. Favorites include, but are in no way limited to:
• tacos + margaritas + chips & guacamole
• Indian dishes - especially curries and biryanis
• Korean food - bibimbap with extra gochujang and kimchi, please
• anything covered in cheese - grilled cheese, pizza, mac & cheese, nachos - you get the the idea!

Running around with your friends in the woods, jumping over little logs and fences, hanging with your besties at the trailer afterward with some snax and drinx - what's not to love?! Ollie was a semi-retired lesson horse who paid his dues packing kids around the jumper ring, so we enjoyed the relaxing, casual vibe of a hunter pace with pals.

I grew up in Los Angeles and went to school at UC Santa Barbara (go Gauchos!), so I'm a beach girl at heart. Don't get me wrong - I won't go in the water in California (the Pacific is freaking COLD out there, contrary to popular belief!), and I am not super excited about SHARKS so I tend to spend most of my time on the sand! Under an umbrella, preferably. And maybe a margarita and some guacamole and chips. Also a box of Sour Patch Kids, if we're really being serious here.

Last but certainly not least - my husband Gus and my main men, Ollie & Lyric. Ollie is unfortunately no longer with me, as he passed away suddenly in summer of 2021. He will forever be my heart horse of a lifetime. Lyric is a Lipizzaner/TB cross who joined the family in early 2022. He just so happens to also be a flea-bitten grey. He's worked his way into my heart quite quickly and he's officially found his forever home with me.
Gus is a theoretical physicist, and his hobbies include physics (no, seriously), street and landscape photography, and making stick figure drawings to attempt to explain scientific theories and principles to me. He makes a MEAN Manhattan, a respectable spicy margarita, and the best risotto I've ever had.

The actual shoot ended up being an afternoon of total enjoyment! Jessica is an extremely talented, professional photographer, with an excellent eye and keen ability to capture the right moments as they naturally unfold. The images are a treasured keepsake for our family, and I consider Jessica a treasured friend. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

It was a super hot and muggy day, and Jessica went above and beyond to keep us cool and comfortable for the shoot - bringing along a fan and other props to help us cool down.
